Thallo Pass- which connects
Kumrat with Chitral
Thallo Pass is a historic passage
that connects Upper Panjkora and Kohistan Dir (Kumrat Valley) with Chitral.
This pass has been traversed by the Dardic tribe for centuries. The route is
renowned for its stunning landscapes, including vast green meadows, grazing
grounds, lakes, waterfalls, and large glaciers. Notable grazing grounds along
this route include Ezgallo Banda, Ghorshai Banda, and Shahzor Banda. Some of
the famous lakes are Shahzor Lake, Zaigi Chatt Lake, Thallo Lake, Kak Lake, and
Kool Lake. In addition, you will encounter large glaciers, such as the Thallo
Glacier.
For centuries, the Dardic tribe, settled on both sides of the pass, has utilized this 1,400-foot-high route to connect their communities. Historically, during attacks on Dir Kohistan, Thallo Pass served as an escape route for the residents.
